We're excited to join in with Danielle from A Stash Addict for another Fibre Appreciation Thursday this week. Today's featured yarn is Prime Alpaca. Our Prime Alpaca skeins are jumbo sized - they weigh in at half a pound (over 225 grams)! Each skein has 660 yards (about 600 meters), so you can make even a large project with just one or two skeins.
We love Prime Alpaca so much that it was the subject of our very first yarn feature back when we launched the blog. Besides the softness and great yardage, I love the fact that Prime Alpaca is undyed. The variety of natural shades is just so beautiful - and the natural shades are wonderful for those of us who are timid about using bold in our creations.
My personal favorite shades are the grays...

... but I love the Chocolate, too.
We've featured two great customer projects in Prime Alpaca this year...

| Lavender Lace by knittergized |
...and two of our favorite patterns by designers!

Two of our other favorite patterns in Prime Alpaca are JoAnne Gerwe's Baby Cables Cowl (a Galler Yarns freebie pattern),
and the Manly Lace Scarf, a freebie pattern by Laurel Hoyt. You can also check out our Prime Alpaca board on Pinterest for more great project ideas.
